Pictures of Zoe for Nationals

Tonight we went to get some pictures taken of Zoe that she needs for Nationals. Here's a few:

Think we like this one the best for her action shot in her costume. There was a woman at the photo store that said to us "That picture says it all. I don't even know you and I would hang that in my living room."

I liked this one too but not as much as the other one.

Here's a few head shots.

I just liked this one.

And there she is: Junior Miss Dance of Southern California 2014

Junior Miss Dance 2014 Competition

The competition started w/ an opening number that all the contestants performed.

Here's Miss Shely coaching Zoe prior to the opening number.

And Miss Grace talking to the girls.

Zoe is feeling good and ready to strut her stuff!  Opening number was a hit.

Zoe's solo was a lyrical number to Silent Night. And although you can't tell from the picture, I spent a week stoning her costume with Swarovski crystals. It was beautiful and sparkled like the night sky under the lights.

Miss Grace doing final touches to her hair.

Zoe and Charlie ready for their solos.

Zoe nailed her solo. It was flawless. Best I've ever seen her dance!  Here she is dressed for awards ceremony.

Riverside which was a modern number competed by the Junior Co. Alas, I have no pictures. It got 1st Runner Up out of all the group numbers in the competition. It was awesome!

Next up, the solo title competition for Zoe...........

Exciting weekend! And so hectic I couldn't even blog!

Gonna back track to Saturday to catch up on where we've been. Started bright and early at 6am. Rehearsal for opening number of solo title competition started at 8am for 2 hours. Got to watch from outside.

Next were dance workshops from 10:30a to 5pm. Zoe and Charlie were all smiles.

Cool tee shirts from the competition.

Zoe gets a bloody nose right before her first class! And yes you are right, she was not happy I took this picture.

Back in studio 4 for another 7hrs of dance. They had workshops in ballet, tap, jazz, contemporary, hip hop and musical theater. The choreographers were top notch with dance careers from Broadway, TV and movies.

One final rehearsal for opening number at 5pm.

After 10hrs of dance everyone was too tired to go out to dinner for Mom's birthday. Even Mom!  So we ordered in.

But prior to going to bed, there was one last costume that needed to be sowed. No rest for the weary dance mom, not even on her birthday.........
