Nationals Day 7: Afternoon Competing and Evening Fun

Yesterday afternoon the Junior Co. competed a high-energy musical theater number called "A Good Girl". Apparently the judges loved it because they got a Platinum for it despite some synchronization issues in a few parts. Maybe they thought it was supposed to be that way!  Yay!!

Last number of the competition that they competed was Autumn Leaves.  It is a really beautiful lyrical number and they got another Platinum for it!   They also got a special judges award called "Special Moments". Ahhhh.........

Yesterday evening we went out on the town with Callan and Lynnette.

We started out sitting on a restaurant balcony for dinner, then it started to rain with lots of thunder and lightening. So we moved indoors.

Here's the girls eating blackened alligator, fried of course!  They loved it.

Then we walked around, shopped, Zoe had a taro card reading and we ended up at Cafe Du Monde again for beignets. The girls can't get enough of them. Good thing they dance so much!

The night ended with a swim with their friends before it started lightening again.

After swimming, Zoe and I sat in our room at our big window on the 35th floor and watched the lightening over the city. So cool!!

Today will be dance workshops this morning followed by a tour of the city with the team afterwards. Later this afternoon will be the High Score awards for the whole competition and the announcements of which top routines across all categories and divisions make it into the Grand National Finals Competition tonight.

Oh, I also got (aka bought! $$) some great pictures that the competition photographer took. Will post some later today/tomorrow.
